Craig of Campbeltown Limited
The People Behind the Journey
Craig of Campbeltown Limited is a third-generation, proud Scottish family business. From our humble beginnings in 1921 when the Craig family started a local bus operation in Campbeltown, we have grown over a century into one of Scotland’s most dynamic, multi-modal transport and tourism groups.
Today, CCL employs approximately 600 people across a highly diverse portfolio spanning local buses, commuter coaches, city tours, fast passenger ferries, and small-ship luxury cruise vessels.

The Jobs That Keep Us Moving
Seven brands, eight depots, and a huge range of roles. On the road, at sea, and everywhere in between. Here’s a look at the teams that make up Craig of Campbeltown Limited.

Drivers
CCL employs drivers across 8 depots spanning the length and breadth of Scotland: Mull, Oban, Campbeltown, Dunoon, Bute, Glasgow, Galashiels, and Berwick-upon-Tweed. They are essential to delivering our mission of safe, reliable transport for all. The face of the company to customers, they are not only professional drivers and experts in safe driving best practices, but customer service workers and important fixtures of their local communities.

Resellers
Our team of resellers for City Sightseeing Glasgow have a crucial role to play in welcoming visitors to the UK’s friendliest city. They don’t just sell tickets, but help customers find our stops, give them recommendations, advise on attraction opening hours and closures, and manage demand and queues during our busy summer season. Some are also tour guides, while others are fully dedicated to supporting the smooth running of our operations.

Skippers
Our skippers are responsible for the efficient and safe navigation of our scheduled fast ferry service going from Campbeltown to Ballycastle in Northern Ireland, from Ballycastle to Port Ellen on Islay, and back. This is the ultimate job for thrills and views, on a day-time schedule! Skippers on The Majestic Line sleep on board, working to a X weeks on, X weeks off schedule, and travel further afield, as far as St Kilda or Orkney.

Tour Guides
City Sightseeing Glasgow employs a team of seasonal tour guides. Some return summer after summer, with our longest-serving tour guide, Alistair, having guided with the company for over 20 years. We also hire and train new guides every summer, from diverse backgrounds, from history students to retired police and XXX.

Chefs
The Majestic Line has built a reputation for gourmet onboard dining, enjoyed in an intimate and relaxing atmosphere in some of Scotland’s most remote and rugged settings. Our chefs use skill, creativity, and the best Scottish produce to take guests on a culinary voyage they will remember long after disembarkation.

Stewards
Masters of many trades, our stewards are experts in luxury customer service: from driving the tender boat, mixing cocktails at the bar, to refreshing cabins, their dedication makes The Majestic Line the attentive, personal cruising experience guests know it as.

Engineers
Our team of experienced and apprentice engineers make sure our wheels keep turning. They work to make sure our fleet runs safely, reliably and smoothly, and keeps to a high level of presentation.
